Departure of director Marius Meurs from GHG

Late May, it was announced that the Groot Handelsgebouw was to become the property of HighBrook Investors. The acquisition by HighBrook Investors was finalised on Friday, 27 July. While the team responsible for the management of the Groot Handelsgebouw remains intact, Marius Meurs has resigned as its director. Marius has been committed to the Groot Handelsgebouw for over 12 years. In that time, he has managed to successfully transform our national monument. The building is once again an icon for the city and even has an occupancy rate of more than 90%. Reason enough to feel proud. During his farewell party, the RCD chairman, Hans de Jonge thanked Marius for his contribution all these years. The GHG is a true icon within the area development of RCD. It’s good to know that Marius will continue on as a board member for RCD.

On the website of the Groot Handelsgebouw there is an interview with Marius Meurs about his experiences these past 12 years. He tells of the decisiveness of Rotterdam and his confidence in the resilience of the Groot Handelsgebouw.
